MAKE IT CLEAR
ADOBE
Women make up 61% of all creatives but get paid 32% less than men for the same job. There are many ways to fight this problem, but it has been shown that the first step towards gender pay parity is transparency.
Adobe reached median pay parity in 2018, and as the ultimate tool used by virtually all creatives, it holds the power to change the creative field. Adobe is starting a conversation about the gender pay gap in the hopes of empowering female creatives to not only stand up for equal pay, but to create a more open and honest creative space.
PRINT + OOH
First, we enlist the help of female designers from all over the country to create our out of home ads. Then, we cover 32% of the designs with Adobe’s signature transparency grid, to visually enforce that the conversation around gender pay demands transparency.
PRESS RELEASE
Adobe publishes a press release and long copy ads with their demands for pay transparency within the creative field. If companies that use Adobe choose not to disclose their salary numbers, Adobe will suspend their partnerships with them.
Transparency Takeover
Adobe partners with companies who already pay their employees equally, to proudly display our grid on their platforms and help spread the message about the need for transparency.
THE PROJECT:
THE PAY
There’s been a huge jump in the number of people freelancing over the past decade, but female freelancers face a pay gap partially due undervaluing their work or settling for lower rates.
We start a social movement called “The Project : The Pay” that uses pay transparency to establish a pay-rate baseline so that female creatives can feel confident in asking for the pay their work is worth.

CREATIVE’S SUITE
Adobe partners with women-only co-working spaces across the country to create an environment that allows female creatives to gather together and have all of the tools they need to make their vision a reality. Access to the Creative’s Suite is included with a woman’s Adobe subscription.
THE TRUTH
COMES OUT
During the course of the year, Adobe hosts a live microsite where all of the pay numbers are displayed as they come out from major companies nationwide.
All of our print and OOH ads were inspired by work from real female creators.
Their work can be found here.
